Counselling is a confidential and professional service that assists a person to become more self- aware and emotionally healthy. Individuals, couples or families seek counselling on a range of issues within their personal or work lives. During counselling, you gain a greater understanding of yourself and your behaviours, leading you to a more positive and fulfilled life.

Counselling is for anyone who wishes to improve their life. A qualified psychologist can guide you in resolving issues and developing emotionally so that you can move forward in all areas of your life with a happier outlook.

Psychologists study the science of human behaviour and mental processes by conducting research and applying research findings. They use this research to help people reduce distress, change negative thinking patterns & behaviours and facilitate self awareness.

All our Psychologists are University educated for a minimum of 4 Years. They must then complete either 2 years of further education or 2 years of supervision from a registered psychologist. Psychologists who hold a specialist title (such as Clinical Psychologist or Counselling Psychologist) have completed a minimum of 6 years of University education.

Psychologists are trained in a range of different psychological therapies and individuals play an important part in their own counselling sessions by working with the psychologist to understand their feelings, thoughts and actions Psychologists use non-drug treatments and do not prescribe medication, but where appropriate, they may work with other medical practitioners such as GPs, who may prescribe medication as part of an overall treatment.

We offer very reasonable rates for Psychological and Psychiatric Counselling. Concessions may apply for health care card holders and pensioners. For further details on pricing, please contact our receptionist. Most services attract medicare rebates.

Please note that we do not bulk bill counselling services. You can expect an out of pocket expenses of around $60.00 to $120.00 per visit.
